If these aren't vibrant...

...than I don't know what is!

Identify this plant!

I'm cheating a little today because I took these photos yesterday. I did take some photos today but I have to keep them a secret for a couple of days because they are of a gift I have for someone who frequents my blog somewhat regularly. The recipient would know right away it was for them if they saw the photos.
So anyway, back to the question at hand. I'm pretty sure this is nothing more than a weed but I actually think it's quite lovely. I found several of these plants on my little walk yesterday through part of the development (where I live) that's still in its infancy. From a distance these actually look like dying/wilted flowers but upon closer inspection they look like little goldfish...or at least that's what I think they look like. The flowers are about the size of a quarter. Any guesses as to what it is?!?!

I'm a bit late for the car challenge

I bet it's hard to be inconspicuous in this.....

I got flowers :)

I've been moping around for a couple of days since we lost BJ (I'm going to miss him so much) and I don't think Brannon knows what to do with me....lol. I came home today to a pet sympathy card (Who knew they even made those?!?! Gotta love Hallmark) and a really beautiful bouquet of flowers that contained gerberas, button mums, yellow and white daisies, 2 gigantic callas, and some freesia. It was a really sweet gesture and, coincidentally, the majority of the flowers were yellow. Before you ask, nope, he didn't know this week's theme was "yellow".

I'm still deciding which photo to submit for the contest because I did take some other photos already but I thought that some snapshots from my bouquet would make a nice submission for today. You almost got more snow pics :) :)
When I actually got out of our complex I found the conditions were WAY worse in other areas (so kudos to the snow removal people, hired by the condo assoc'n) and, of course, I had to take some pics. I'll save them for a slow day....

Aberdeen Pavillion

I asked Brannon to quickly stop by the Aberdeen Pavilion (a Victorian heritage building) today on our way home. He had something in the oven and literally told me I had 1 minute to take photos so I wasn't able to find great angles but oh well! I just love how the sun enhances the colour of the building in the first shot; yet does very little in the second. This is where the Ottawa Ex (Central Canada Exhibition) is held each year. I also managed to catch a quick shot of the sun setting as we got closer to home.
